Why is it not possible to recall loaned players?

I am able to cancel the loans of players loaned to me but i am not able to recall players that have already been loaned out in real life. it does not make sense to be able to do one but not the other, if a player is loaned out in real life a manager should not be able to cancel it whether he benefits for the oan or not. So, why can i not recall my players, but am able to cancel loans to me?
