I am not a gold member meaning I dont pick my team for SMFA cups, so do these games count in determining/managing player concerns?

As I am not a gold manager and do not pick the team for SMFA cups, I cant control who does/does not play. My players WITH concerns never seem to get picked for these games....do these games count when reviewing player concerns? Help seems a bit ambigous...says 'All competitions are taken into consideration except friendlies' but also says 'Player concerns are not be affected by SMFA competitions within Standard Game Worlds'
