What is going on with the crappy new player ratings system?

Player ratings used to be changed by league at a given date over a short period. Now they are all over the place and I have had two bids rejected for players because their ratings have risen without warning. This is crap! I STRONGLY suggest reverting to the old system of changing players' ratings!
