Soccer Manager believes that most of the answers to your questions are covered within our Help.

Hi Bill.

There aren't any guided solutions to which tactic will win over the other, as many statistical points in both teams are calculated by the Match Engine.

One of the good ways to try to find the best Formation that suits your team and your players are perhaps those pre-season games as well as friendlies.

Of course, it all also depends on your opponent and their players capabilities.

Try to study opponent's behaviour and if you have info, find the formation to which 4-2-3-1 team has lost. Look around, it's in that little detail that makes the difference :)

..and if I have to mention some formations.. then it would be 3-5-2 or perhaps (attacking version) 4-5-1 A, maybe even 3-1-3-3. Don't give up, it's all in the fun :)
