If you are enjoying more possession and shots than your opponent then the chances are that your tactics are spot on. It is most probably bad luck and I can tell from past experiences that this isn't that bad. In the past I have had about 20 shots more than my opponent and ended up losing! Results like this happen in the game as they do in real life.

Another possibility is that your strikers aren't as highly rated as the rest of your team. They may be wasteful of their chances and despite having a lot more shots - fail to score. Either way I think your tactics are fine.
