Soccer Manager believes that most of the answers to your questions are covered within our Help.

A team's best players will develope concerns over a period of time if they are not played and will demand to leave. There are other types of concerns too.

Once they are transfer listed by their own request the highest bid will be accepted automatically.

Also, as players ratings are constantly reviewed, it should literally be possible for everyone to have all the players forever. It is possible to build a great side with a bit of effort in any league. There are loads of player tips on the forum if you don't have time to "scout" out players yourself.

Plus, the tactics you choose are important which should always make it possible to compete against higher rated teams.
