No he won't leave.
Once the contract expires he will sign a renewal to his contract.
This will be at the going rate, based upon their rating, so it might mean his wages go up if the player has had a rating increase (or down if his rating has dropped) since his last contract renewal, or if you have had the player a while (generally, wages in the game have increased i.e. the "going rate" is now higher than it was a few years back).
