Why do I often lose from unmanaged teams with much lower ratings?

Additional Details
My team has a rating of 88 and i played two draws against an ummanaged team with an avarage rating of 80. I use the same tactics, so that makes no difference.

Ever seen an FA Cup shocker, like Man U V Leeds? It can happen, and so this is no exception in SM.

I know right with Barcelona I lost against Atletico Madrid my rating 95 there's 85
