I can only update some of my players squad status?

Additional Details

Some existing players and all new signings do not have the squad status option in player profile. this is annoying in the extreme as i want to organise the squad but not all have the option. Any reason for this?

    I think the squad status will only show if the player is below 21 yrs of age. So obviously you can't put a 30 yr or so in your youth team but can easily add or remove players to the youth team if they are 21 or below.
