Additional Details
I know during the season you receive a cash injection if your team's assets drop below 50% of the division's average, but I was under the impression that cash injections were given at the beginning of the season as well.
Cash injections from the chairman are no longer given at the start of the season any longer, but you should receive some money from season ticket sales.
Besides that it is prize money, gate receipts, transfer income, and cash injections up to once per month (based on net assets as you mentioned) that will be your main sources of income.
