Retiring Players ????

I have recently signed a free player, aged 18-20, for £1.9M only to find out he is now retiring. Surely this was already in the system ? If it was already known then it should not have let me sign him. How do I get my £1.9M back ?
Answers
If a player retires, you automatically get his value back regardless, so you will just have to wait until he his removed from your team.
