I have been the manager of Schalke 04 since April 2011. I've been monitoring a lot of players and recently - due to that - I got an offer from the manager of Valencia. He offered me Ezequiel Lavezzi for 30 m. According to my chairman the value of the players is 15 m, so I made a counter offer of 20 m. I don't know if he - the Valencia manager - has accepted my counter offer but I have just received this message: "The deal involving FC Schalke 04 and Valencia regarding Ezequiel LAVEZZI has collapsed as the SMFA has blocked the deal." Why? I don't think that 20 m is too much for at 91* rated FWD aged 26! PS: I've got appr. 40 m in cash so it's not that I can't pay.
The thing is that the player´s value is different for each club. When you bid for a player, you will see the max amount of money your chairman will let you offer and eventually pay. If your chairman decides that Lavezzi is worth 15 millions, he won´t let you offer more than that. The same thing happes to all of us, i wanted to buy Robben, i had 100 millions, but my chairman decided that i was allow to offer only up to 60, and that was it. Or Valencia accepts your 15 millions offer, or the transfer won´t happen, sorry.
