I'm not an idiot, i know what i'm doing when it comes to sorting out a football team and stuff. And by all means i can understand losing the odd game to better opposition. But that's just it, they're not better opposition. I sort out the tactics before the game, make sure all my players are in their correct/favoured positions, and i usually base the tactics around how the teams play in real life. Think hard about the chemistry of the team. Doesn't make any difference. I would like a SM forum guy to explain to me how the match engine works. It makes no sense whatsoever.
No one knows how exactly the match engine works, unless he is the creator of the game!
However, it is certain that every game depends on different aspects i wrote the most important:
formation, in-game instructions, morale, condition, concerns, injuries, opponents weaknesses & formation he use, average rating.
I have seen hundreds of posts saying that "ok i have average rating 95 and use this formaton but keep losing". NO, it doesnt work like this. It isnt so simply. By the way, what would be the meaning of playing a game under taking in consideration only the rating. Also, in real world, dont forget that even top football clubs, (example, Barcelona, Real Madrid) have lost several times for 10 times "weaker" clubs, with 100 times lower budget.
