What happens if you don't renew a player's contract on his last season?

I have 3 players that are on their last season (according to their contract) and I'm not willing to renew them at the moment as they aren't performing well. What would happen if I left it until the end of the season? will they leave? just curious. Thanks in advance!
Answers
Its best just to ignore contract lengths. They have no real impact on the game :P

The chairman will renew their contract automatically
