They should have a reserves league or something you can manage as well, so It keeps players playing and that will keep them happy

I agree. Practice mode that can affect players moral, form, physical state...would make the game more realistic on day to day bases

nope but you can send them on loan to a team in the lower divison and see how they get on

Best way is to start off in a lower league. I took Leeds from the League 1 to the Premiership and learned alot about bringing in the right players to make money and to beat nearly every team along the way.
I'm still managing my Leeds team which when i started the starting 11 rating was 83. I have now managed to get that up to 93.
My advise would be to go gold so you can save tactics and swap if one isn't working out well

You can also try to send them on loan and you will pay only 50% of their annual wages while playing with another club

that would make the game unrealistic. the skill range of the player depends on his performance on the REAL pitch. it would be like pro evolution or fifa 13 then.

i think they should not use the practice mode...you can use friendly match as practice...its same...
