when In the transfer market, some players have a lower 'ask' price than their value, however I can not bid the 'ask' price and only the 'value' is acceptable?
The 'asking price' is set by the manager, and can be treated as a 'ono' price.
The chairman will not allow a player to be sold for lower than his 'value', so, although a manager can set the asking price as low as they want, there is no point in setting it lower than the 'value'.
If the club is managed, the manager is either unaware of this or has made an error.
If the club is unmanaged, the player's value may have changed (due to a rating increase or due to other players being sold and therefore increasing his importance to the club) since the time he was transfer listed, and does not update accordingly.
