In other words, if a 77 performed very well recently does that improve his next game? My feeling (as an inexperienced manager) is that there is too much emphasis on real world ratings and not enough on how players are performing in the game world. Can form be used to assess a player for the next match?
Certainly ratings and form are taken into account.
The results are decided using SM's match engine which takes into account numerous game factors ranging from player fitness level to rating to tactics/formations. Naturally, SM cannot disclose exactly how the results are decided since that would ruin the game.
