what is the purpose of a players moral in soccer manager?

Additional Details

i notice that some players have lower moral than others but i cannot figure out why or how to raise it. i also cannot see how this is affecting the players them selves

    Hello,

    A player's morale is based on numerous factors such as their clubs form, his transfer status, their current form etc.

    you can raise the morale by giving your player a New Contract. Select a player from your squad and you will find that option, its an blue button. Of course, giving a new contact to a player that you use rarely in your first squad then his morale might not raiase or it will raise only a little.
