I guess what I'm really asking is are there other factors (even secret) that make a player perform better than an other? I don't think we should necessarily know what these other factors are but at least I would like to know that if I had, lets say, 2 wingers with same rating and morale it wouldn't make any difference which one I played...even if, for example, one is much younger, or if they have totally different styles in real life...
Yes, there are many other factors. One example is condition. If two players have the same rating and same morale, but one is 50% fit and the other is 70% fit, the 70% fit player will naturally play better.
No factors are "secret" in SM, per se. Everything that is taken into account is available at all managers disposal, it is just your job as manager to put the pieces together. Good thing SM doesn't reveal everything blatantly or else there the fun of the game would be ruined.
