Soccer Manager believes that most of the answers to your questions are covered within our Help.

Problem with my game world

Additional Details
I've tried to log in today to sort our my team for tonight but it is saying there are site maintenance due to a problem with the server and it will be fixed shortly. Yet underneath this on the next fixture line it says there are no more fixture this season.
We have around ten games to go, so what happens to the rest of the season??

This sounds like an in-game Bug. You will need to report this to SM by creating a Bug ticket. There is a link on the left of this screen for reporting any in-game Bugs.
