how long does it take from offering for a player to the bid being accepted in non-managed clubs?

Additional Details

Basically i bid for a player at c07:00 (no other bids for him at that time), went to work, logged on at c15:00 and the bid had been accepted along with one from another club. Giving me no time to respond to the bid by rival club.
